Abstract. An assessment of the regional background level of dust pollution of natural origin in the Volgograd region is given based on an experimental analysis of the concentration and dispersed composition of dust contained in the atmospheric air of two experimental zones. The dispersed composition was assessed microscopically and using a small-sized mobile dust meter PIKMA-1.
