Abstract. The article considers demographic indicators as the basis for population analysis and substantiates the need for their cartographic display. The research is aimed at systematizing the main indicators characterizing the number, structure, and dynamics of the population, as well as identifying the most effective ways to visualize them. Official statistical data from the federal and regional levels ensures the reliability and comparability of the results. We pay special attention to selecting mapping methods based on the nature of the indicator and its spatial distribution features. It is shown that the use of cartographic methods makes it possible to identify territorial differences, analyze demographic processes, and increase the information content of statistical data. The results obtained can be used in conducting regional demographic research and in the practice of spatial analysis.
