Abstract. As a result of many years of entomological research in the urban green spaces of Volgograd, the ecological and biological features of some pests of trees and shrubs, including omnivorous and specialized ones, were analyzed. It has been established that populations of a number of species, in particular the unpaired and ringed silkworms, the golden tail, the silvery moon, the American white butterfly, the elm-tailed sawfly, the elm sawfly, and the elm leaf beetle, demonstrate periodic outbreaks of abundance in natural woodlands and suburban forest protection strips, which can lead to the formation of foci of mass reproduction in landscaping areas of an urbanized environment.
